ESA ANNUAL MEETING 2008

Review: ESA ANNUAL MEETING, October 29th 2008, Paris

There were two presentations at this year`s Annual Meeting. The first one “ESA information service about CE rules” was presented by Mr. Denis Larrue from Alutec  and he told the audience about a new scheme to support ESA members on CE marking regulation. This special offer will be free of charge for ESA members. The information service will start on January 2009. For more detailed information, please have a look at the presentation of Alutec that you can download from the internal member area.

The second presentation was the study on "the effects of ultraviolet radiation on the human eye" that was commissioned by the ESA and presented by Dr. Angela Morton. The two aims of this study were to evaluate UVR as a factor in the development of ocular disease as well as to evaluate if the ocular health benefits from wearing sunglasses. Furthermore, Dr. Morton mentioned key areas that would merit further investigation. This very interesting and revealing study can be found in the internal member area for download.

Both presentations are now available for download in the internal member section on www.esa-sunglasses.com

We are happy to present to you our new ESA Board for 2008/2009: A list containing the names of the new ESA Board can be found in the internal member area. For your info: one ESA Board Member, Mr. Allan Rasmussen (Pro Design), has left the Board. We are happy to welcome Mr. Martijn van Eerde (Maui Jim) as a new ESA Board Member.

ESA events 2009: The two highlight events will be the MIDO Dinner that will be held on March 7th 2009 in a new "networking friendly" format and the European Sunglass Conference in early May 2009 (date coming very soon) that once again will have informative and valuable presentations as well as opportunities to discuss relevant sunglass topics. More information on these two highlights will follow shortly!
We are looking forward to seeing you at these events and hope that you will gain even more from your ESA Membership!
